FAQ
1. How far in advance do I need to book with you? As early as possible if you want to guarantee your space.
2. How long have you been in business? I went self employed as a photographer in 2010.
3. How many weddings have you shot? Well over 100.
4. How would you describe your photography style? Reportage or Documentary.
5. Do you have a portfolio I can review? There are many examples on my website but whether you book with me or another photographer, I highly recommend you view an entire wedding.
6. What type of equipment do you use? I shoot with mirrorless Canon cameras and lenses.
7. Do you shoot in colour and black & white? Everything is shot in colour and delivered in colour. The gallery software I use does allow you to download black & white versions of each image. Black and White retouching can be added on as an extra.
8. Can I give you a list of specific shots we would like? Will you shoot line up shots? Sorry, I don't work to shot lists, feel free to make me aware of shots you would like but I won’t be held to it. I will happily shoot family line up shots but will offer you advice on how to keep them streamlined.
9. What information do you need from me before the wedding day? Everything I need to know we will discuss in our final meeting, the biggie for me is an accurate timeline.
10. Have you ever worked with my videographer? Let me know who you have in mind and I will tell you whether we have worked together. In my opinion it’s great if you can decide what’s more important to you so if there are times we both want the same spot we know who should get it.
11. May I have a list of references? There are a ton of testimonials on my website.
12. Are you the photographer who will shoot my wedding? If so, will you have any assistants with you? Yes I am, I prefer to work alone, if you require a second photographer then we can have a look together and see who is available.
13. Do you have backup equipment? I shoot with two cameras on the day each with two memory cards keeping your photographs safe, I also have another camera and back up lenses in my car if your wedding is local.
14. How will you be dressed? Usually chinos and a shirt.
15. Is it okay if other people take photos while you’re taking photos? I mean I’m not going to tell them not to, it’s your call if you want an unplugged wedding or not. Just remember that if they are taking photographs of you walking down the aisle with their Ipad then you’re going to have Ipads in your photographs. It’s not a bad idea to tell the bridal party to leave their cameras at home.
16. If my event lasts longer than expected, will you stay? Is there an additional charge? Working on an hourly basis I will finish at the agreed time, if you want to add an hour on when I am due to leave I will most likely accept. There would be an additional charge for any extra hours.
17. What packages do you offer? I offer up to 10 hours @ £3500.00, if you need more than that we can discuss options.
18. Can I have custom hours based on my needs? Yes that is no problem, although hours must run concurrently.
19. Do you offer engagement photoshoots? I don’t actively market for them but if it’s something you would like I would be happy to do that for you.
20. Do you offer albums? I offer albums throughout the winter months when I have more time time to put them together.
21. Do you provide retouching, colour adjustment or other corrective services? I retouch all delivered photographs from your wedding, my retouch is final I don’t offer additional retouch. if theres something that really bothers you I may be able to help or point you in the direction of a retoucher.
22. How long after the wedding will I get my photos? I try to work on your wedding the week after I shoot it, that way it is still fresh in my mind. Sometimes in the busiest periods this isn’t possible. I get your wedding to you as soon as I possibly can.
23. Will you use our photographs for your marketing? Yes, unless agreed otherwise photographs from weddings are essential to my marketing strategy, if you do have a problem with this then we can talk it over.
24. Will you give me the RAW files so I can edit them myself? No.
25. How much of a deposit do you require and when is it due? I am currently asking for 50% on confirmation of your date.
26. What is your refund/cancellation policy? I don't want to loose your booking hopefully as much as you don’t want to loose me. If we can rearrange then thats great, if not each case will be looked at individually. In most cases deposits are non refundable.
27. Do you have liability insurance? Yes.
28. Do we need to feed you? Yes please, its a long day. I expect to eat the same meal as the guests but I prefer to find a quiet corner rather than be part of the seating plan.
